The movie is interesting because we are torn between identifying with both the prosecutors and the prosecuted, however you want to define either group. This means that there can be no happy ending for anyone, because in either case you'd feel cheated. The ending they used is actually a nice choice.

I have a few problems with some elements of the story. The neighbor's role doesn't seem to have had much of a point... his part could have been accomplished through another device.

The other little things, like violence... there isn't as much as you'd expect. There's a lingering threat of violence, but the movie actually stays away from showing that much
